Langara Business School Information Session
The Langara School of Management offers a variety of Bachelors degrees and Diplomas. We will be holding information sessions to describe the programs, the application process and provide insight from our students.
For students interested in pursuing a business career, this would be a great opportunity to get some information and advice in an intimate setting.
The next session will all be on Wednesday, February 27, held from 5:30 - 6:30 PM at Langara College in Room B251.

PSI for Grads Not Enrolled in English 12
Attention Grads who are not currently in a Magee En12 class: Any student who has not already completed or will not be completing his/her electronic PSI form in The Computer Lab with Mrs. Lercher during English 12, is reminded to report to RM 247 on Tuesday, February 5 or Monday, February 18 promptly @ the beginning of lunch. Attendance is mandatory. Space is limited. At that time you will complete this required online transcript permission form, as well as hear the most recent updates regarding: sending your marks, timelines, graduation and much more. PLEASE BRING YOUR PEN number. If you are a Grade 12 student enrolled in ELL English or in EN 10 your presence is not required! Please see Mrs. Lercher if you have any questions. Thanks!

GT Phase II
Phase II of Grad Transitions Community Connections) is due. If you are in a Work Experience program, Ms. Siracusa will notify me when you have completed your work experience. You do, however, have to complete the online form in which you identify the skills you have acquired and how these skills connect with your future employability and life skills. If you are not in Work Experience, you need to document that you have participated in 30 or more hours of work or volunteer experience. School related volunteer experience or work experience gained in other countries is not eligible.

- Sign up sheets are now available in the counselling department for this event. Make sure you sign up for two different sessions: session one is from 8:30am - 9:05am AND session two is from 9:10am until 9:45am.

Halloween Grad Breakfast!
Our first grad breakfast will be on Halloween (Wednesday October 31) at 7 AM. Remember to dress up in your most creative costumes as there will be Halloween-themed games, draws, and prizes for best costume.

Changes to UBC's Admissions/Entrance Scholarship Process
Applying for UBC Major Entrance Scholarships(MES)
- Students are automatically considered for a Major Entrance Scholarship if they apply to UBC through the online application by December 10th, 2012
. This is the only way to apply for a Major Entrance Scholarship. The information that Canadian applicants submit in their Personal Profile will be used for admissions and for Major Entrance Scholarship consideration, making the application process much easier. Refined Requirements for Personal Profile References Students must submit the names of two referees in their Personal Profile. One of these referees must be someone who can speak directly to the activities and experiences described in the Personal Profile. Accordingly, this is what applicants will see in their application:
Please submit the names of two referees who know you well and can comment on your preparedness for study at UBC. Examples of referees include an employer, a community member, a coach, a teacher/instructor, or anyone who knows you well. One of the referees you select MUST be able to speak to one of the activities/experiences described in one of your long-answer responses above. For applicants who are currently attending a high school, one of your referees MUST be a school official (e.g. grade 12 or senior year counsellor or IB Coordinator). Neither referee should be a friend, family member, or paid agent.
